DeLania Truly is a lifelong learner and creative spirit. Photography has been a part of her life and career for decades, beginning with taking slides for junior high projects and mixing them with music. As a journalism major in college, she experienced the value of a great image to support a great story. That is where she learned darkroom editing and the basics of working with a film camera. Her professional career included time in marketing, advertising, and leadership.
Today, DeLania is a professional photographer focusing on faces, spaces and places that capture a significant moment or a special feeling. She loves working with people, families, and businesses to build a vision, then capture it behind the lens. One of her newly discovered passions is event photography because everyone is happy and wants to take fun photos.
Astrophotography has a special place in DeLania’s heart … from the thrill of capturing a Milky Way to discovering a unique foreground under a million stars. This passion began in 2018 and hasn’t stopped. That’s why she’s excited to help new astrophotographers find that passion, as well as support the developing needs of the veteran image makers.
